The During the 17th and 18th Centuries,
five missions for the Indians were built
in Arizona. One remains. Founded in
1700 by Father Eusebio Kino, San Xavier
del Bac is called by the Indians, La
Paloma Blanca del Desierto, "White
Dove of the Desert."
