    Description

Here's a very beautiful Victorian era Tankard Style Pitcher.  It stands 10 3/4" tall and 5 1/4" across the base.   The maker is unknown but possibly French.  It could possibly be Moser made in the Bohemian area of the time.  Made ca. 1890s.  It is also possible to be made in the U.S. by Honesdale.  This type Pitcher has been attributed to
    Link, Krantz, and Sell
.  The weight is quite substantial at nearly 4 lbs.  It features very fine and intricately cut patterns of alternating panels with patterns of
    Strawberry Diamond
    and
    Sheffield
. The panels are cut in an Arch shape to resemble the Arch design of early church windows and doors and other buildings.  Very beautiful indeed.  The bottom is cut with a
    Star
pattern.  Ware on the bottom is commensurate to it's age of well over 100 years making it a true antique.  The applied handle is also gilt decorated.  There are no heat checks in the handle.  The top is cut with beveled edges and gilt covered.  It has beautiful gilt outlines around each panel and very detailed gilt outlines around the edges of all the cut
    Fan
patterns.   Cuts are very detailed and precise.  There is very little loss of gold as is evident in all the photos.  Master cutters and decorators created this magnificent work of art for sure.  The photos do not do justice.  It's in excellent condition.  No chips or cracks.   Beautiful clarity.  Any light or dark spots shown in the pictures are from camera glare.  This will make a great addition to any Victorian era Cut Glass collection.
